2. CFD analyst (Boiler Design)

Thermax Babcock & Wilcox Ltd.                                                                               Jul 04 to Dec 05

·         Activities covered all steps of CFD modeling viz., creating parametric model in Pro Engineer, cleaning up geometry, meshing the model using ICEM CFD/ CFX Build, editing mesh, setting up appropriate boundary conditions in CFX.

·         Used CFX to analyze the flow through various types of boilers like exhaust gas boiler, heat recovery steam generator, radiant boiler, fully modular boiler, air supply and flue gas ducts.

·         Analysis was intended to examine the flow distribution, flame pattern, flame length, temperature distribution, and estimate pressure drop.

·         Suggested suitable modifications in the geometry by changing the dimensions, inserting baffles, porous plates in the flow to achieve uniform velocity distribution at the inlet of heat exchangers, burners, or windboxes.
